Meet Tony Parker, Landscaping Manager at Woodside

We caught up with Tony Parker to find out what the Landscaping team at Woodside Industrial Estate get up to.

How long have you worked at Woodside Industrial Estate?

I have worked at Woodside for 12 years.

What does your job entail?

I manage a small team on the estate and design and maintain the estate grounds to high standards, I also make sure the site is a safe place to work. We deal with the biodiversity of the estate where I can i.e. bird boxes, wildflowers and nature areas without having any impact on the tenants.

What value does your job bring to occupier businesses and their staff?

I deliver a clean and professional look to the estate, with shapes and colours and ensure that we keep everything tidy.

What makes Woodside Industrial Estate special?

Over the last 12 years myself and the team have changed the look of the estate to make it stand out and have a clean image. We also recycle 100% of all the tree cuttings, which go to Whipsnade Zoo to feed the animals and to make their living habitats interesting, with the rest going off to be made into compost.

What do you like the best about your job?

The satisfaction of the outcome as we go around the estate doing what we can to get the best look around the estate.

What do you wish all occupiers knew about the estate?

That including myself there are only four of us keeping Woodside clean and tidy for all the workers and units. I think a lot of people would be very surprised on the results that we achieve for such a small team!

What landscaping plans do you have for the estate in the coming months/years?

We have plans to put 30 new bird boxes in the trees around the estate and lots more wildflower around the estate to boost biodiversity hoping to bring bugs, birds and small animals to Woodside. We are also in the process of having bee hives installed on the estate.

How and when can occupiers contact you?

As and when needed through the estate office or on my mobile. We offer a quick visit if there is a big meeting happening to freshen up the unit and surrounding areas, so please do get in touch with Mike Church, the Community Manager if you’d like us to pay you a visit!
